Furniture pieces

Furniture surrounds us every day and serves numerous purposes. u-labprojekte designs and creates unique originals and small series.

Philosophy

For us, each project is a new and exciting challenge calling for just the right approach. Our objects typically emerge from a process of identification of needs, a necessary stage of every new commission. Experiences as a result of this testing and further improvement, form the basis for future small-series production. When we talk about series, however, we do not mean industrial mass production. We manufacture small product series, each item of which can be customized and adapted to the client’s needs and requirements while maintaining the characteristics of the series itself.

Materials

We aim to leave the materials we use, as much as is possible, in their original state. Gentle surface finishing with oil or organic lacquers keeps the distinct material character alive. We avoid using new materials whenever there’s a chance to reuse, reclaim, or upcycle existing ones. We also like to “misappropriate” materials, using them for something other than their intended purpose. Thus, acrylic glass panels are turned into box elements and kitchen worktops are made of high pressure laminates.

Moving Line

Many pieces of furniture are moved around a lot. Moving days are days of extreme wear and tear for furniture. The increase in mobility and urban nomadism means that there are many moving days. That is why each piece in the Moving Line can be easily assembled and disassembled. All connecting elements are made of high-quality material and the assembly is mostly intuitive.
